Problem

A magistrate's work runs across a docket of matters, parties, hearings and callovers, judgments with a version history, bench notes, and the legislation and case law behind them. Magistrate Wizard brings that into one place.

Approach

The app is React and TypeScript on Supabase: Postgres with row-level security on every table from the migration that creates it, plus storage and edge functions. The docket is anchored to courts, so access to a matter follows the court assignment or an active share. The legal library takes in legislation and case law through OCR, with Tesseract and pdf.js. The same build ships to the web, and through Capacitor and Electron to Android, iOS and Windows. Every push to the development branch runs an audit, lint, type checks, the test suite, a build and Playwright smoke tests, and production moves only when all of them pass.

Outcomes

  • Live at magistrate-wizard.vercel.app
  • Two alpha prereleases in August 2026, each with an Android build
  • Google Calendar mirroring, sharing and notifications
  • CodeQL analysis, and a daily production check that the app sends CSP and HSTS headers
