Public-Sector Frappe Apps

Permit and immigration apps for Guyana's public sector, built and maintained at the National Data Management Authority.

Frappe, Python, JavaScript

Rebuilt the EPA staff workspaces with Environmental Permits split by department, and updated the Visa and Non-Citizen Permit systems for rule changes.

Problem

The EPA's staff workspaces and frontend were legacy code, and Environmental Permits were not split by department. The Visa Application System and the Non-Citizen Permit Application System had to keep up with regulatory changes, and some of their business rules needed fixing.

Approach

I overhauled the EPA staff workspaces and their frontend in JavaScript and Python, and split Environmental Permits by department so each department works its own permit workflow. On the Visa Application System and the Non-Citizen Permit Application System I audited the apps against the regulatory changes and fixed the business rules that no longer matched. Alongside that I maintain Frappe apps used across public-sector operations.

Outcomes

  • EPA staff workspaces and frontend overhauled for Environmental Permits
  • Permit workflows scoped by department
  • Visa Application System updated for regulatory and rule changes
  • Non-Citizen Permit Application System audited, with business-rule fixes
